Tolulope Makinwa is a social entrepreneur who founded Muazu Africa in 2022. Muazu Africa operates as a pioneering tech-driven platform aimed at catalyzing early-stage social enterprises. Her core mission is to eliminate barriers between legislation, markets, and collective social capital gaps within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. She firmly believes in the transformative potential of social enterprises, foreseeing their pivotal role in generating millions of jobs by 2030.

Through strategic initiatives, she established a robust support framework, fostering economic growth and inclusivity across Benin Republic, Nigeria, and Rwanda. Her success lies in connecting 5% of the serviceable addressable markets in these regions to sustainable employment opportunities, thereby contributing tangibly to their economic prosperity. Moreover, Muazu Africa’s impact extends beyond job creation. She launched campus hubs in Rwanda, Kenya, Benin Republic, and Togo tailored for the burgeoning Gen Z workforce, nurturing a new generation of socially conscious entrepreneurs. These hubs serve as fertile grounds, bridging aspiring student entrepreneurs with angel investors and pertinent social investment prospects.

Her pivotal achievement remains the design and implementation of Nigeria’s inaugural Social Enterprise Policy. This pioneering policy framework incentivizes and regulates sustainable businesses, substantially enhancing the ease of conducting socially conscious ventures within the country.

She bagged her first degree in English and International Studies from Nigeria; MBA degree from QSBT, USA; Post graduate degree in Public Leadership and Policy and others. Tolulope is a globally certified management consultant (CMC) and Fellow, Institute of Management Consultant (FIMC). She is a BiNTA Anti-corruption Fellow of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group-Policy Innovation Centre, funded by MacArthur Foundation; London School of Economics, 100X Multiplier; and a Vital Voices Fellowa global fellowship co-founded by ex-Senator, Hilary Clinton. She has clinched multiple awards and global recognitions; ELOY Award for Social Enterprise, Top 50 African Female Changemakers, TedX Oluyole’s Top 50 Women in Social Development, Ooni of Ife’s Imperial Majesty Gold Award for Voluntary actions and Youth Development, and MMEF Award for inspirational young person.
